Travis Sullivan is the leader of the internationally renowned “Travis Sullivan’s Bjorkestra”, an 18 piece big band that plays his arrangements of the music of the pop artist Bjork. In addition to his accomplished background in music performance on both the piano and saxophone, he has a strong commitment and extensive experience in music education.

Although Travis has a M.M. in Saxophone Jazz Performance from Manhattan School of Music, his first love has always been the piano. His experience as a music educator is varied. He is currently the piano accompanist for the Mamaroneck Elementary, Middle, and High School Choirs, in 2007 he was a guest speaker for the composition department at Peabody Conservatory and guest honors jazz band conductor for the Southern Regional Connecticut Music Educators Conference, from 2006- 2007 he was part of the jazz faculty at the Stanley Middle School Jazz Workshop, and from 2003-2005 he was the head of the jazz faculty at Cazadero Performing Arts Camp. Travis was also on the outreach faculty as a keyboard instructor at The Lucy Moses School from 2001-2005. In the Spring of 2009, Travis will be the guest conductor for the “A” Jazz Band for the Westchester Area All-State.

Travis is equally comfortable in private and group class settings teaching all ages from children to adult, and all levels of experience from beginner to advanced. He is available to teach classical, jazz, and popular music styles, as well as composition, arranging, and jazz improvisation.
