| About the Teacher
|
I have been teaching full time for 5
years. I am only 29 years old, which may not seem that
important, but I think it can be great when teaching children.
I'm still an authority figure, however, I can relate to the
children and I like to make the lessons fun. If they're into
Brittney, they can play Brittney as long as they are practicing
lesson materials as well. Kids love me. I'm not so old school I
bore them to death, but I do teach theory and fundamentals. I
have 4 children of my own as well. My 4 year old daughter is
playing by ear tremendously. I'm amazed at her natural talent.
My 2 year old boy has wonderful singing pitch, and I think my 6
year old is going to be a drummer like her daddy. I believe in
stimulating the students' appreciation for music through
whatever vehicle works for the individual student. I currently
have 50 students. I start at the age of four and I have 5 adult
students as well.
I studied classical piano under Naji Houghton in Toledo, Ohio. I
also was a Church Pianist at the age of 12. I even directed the
adult and children's choir as a teenager. I went on to major in
Music at Mount Vernon Nazarene College. I am also currently a
Music Minister at Centerpoint Christian Church. I am a vocalist
as well. I had the solo in our High School Graduation. I sang
with Collegians Choir in College. I sang a McDonald's Commercial
Jingle. I sing and play for weddings and special events.
