I have had the privilege of
teaching piano and vocal lessons in my home
to individuals and groups for over 15 years.
I have also enjoyed music as a performer in
concert bands, rock bands, as a vocal
soloist, choral director and as a music
educator in the public school system. My
involvement has been diverse---from
performing with the Seattle Symphony Chorale
to singing and playing keyboards in various
rock bands and church bands. I hold a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Gordon
College in Wenham, Massachusetts. I teach
individual piano and voice classes to
students of all ages and backgrounds from
beginner to early advanced levels. Musicianship is formed and developed through the
relevant teaching of technique, music theory and
music history. Lessons incorporate a broad spectrum
of styles and forms including Classical, Pop, Jazz,
Folk and Broadway. A recital is given each year
affording students the opportunity to perform for an
audience and learn skills associated with
performance and poise. This is a safe environment
where students can perform for peers and their
families and celebrate each new success.
My approach is fun, personal and based on
motivating each individual toward their potential
with enthusiasm and continual invitations to reach
higher. In my studio encouragement and celebration
are as important as the demand for excellence.
I am located in South San Jose near Santa Teresa
and Bernal. Openings are available throughout the
day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Home Schoolers
Welcome!! Please call for available times.
