A native of the Ukraine, Robert
Hatvani has won many piano and composition awards in Eastern
Europe as well as here in the U.S.
He has performed with the Philharmonic Symphony and Philharmonic
Chamber Orchestras of Debrecen, as well as live performances for
Bartok Radio in Hungary. Locally, he has been the recipient of
1st place awards from the Idaho MTNA (Music Teacher National
Association) student composition competition in 1996 and 1998,
and was the winner of the 1998 Boise State University Piano
Competition.
His education is extensive, and began at the age of 5 under the
tutelage of a private teacher assigned to him in the Ukraine. He
graduated from the P. I. Tchaikovsky Music School (1982 - 1990),
holds a B.A. in piano pedagogy (the art of teaching) from G.
Zador State College of Music (Ukraine), and attended the
Conservatory of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music from 1994 -
1996 (Hungary). Robert Hatvani has been teaching piano for 8
years.
