I have been teaching piano
lessons to students of all ages for nine years, and have
been playing the piano myself for twenty. As I have also taught
in the classroom as a substitute teacher, Sunday School, ESL in
Japan and coordinated children's programs for a library, I
consider myself to be a teacher before a musician. I believe
that learning the arts gives students of any age a sense of self
confidence, an opportunity to discover what they are good at and
enjoy, a way to relax and escape, skills that can transfer to
other areas of life and the opportunity to form important
relationships with teachers and other musicians. I want all of
my students to enjoy learning to play the piano, whatever level
they strive to get to, and to find the time
that we've spent together valuable.
I will be taking new students
beginning in June of 2003, when I will be teaching all day
Monday - Friday and three evenings a week. Lessons are $17 per
student per half hour or $15 each if there are two or more
students in a family. Lessons are held once a week in the
students home, although I will be moving into a studio in the
next year. Please contact me for more information or to schedule
a lesson time!
