About Myself:
My
lifelong enjoyment of music began at a very young
age. Following high school, I was awarded a
scholarship to the Cornish College of the Arts. I
transferred to the University of Washington to
pursue my study of piano performance and
composition. Subsequently, I accepted piano playing
employment for Nordstrom's department store, private
special occasions, and personal projects. For nearly
two decades, I have been fortunate to teach piano
and continue to enjoy playing, composing and writing
instructional pieces for my students. I am a
certified member of the Washington State Music
Teacher’s Association. In addition to teaching from
my home studio on Education Hill in Redmond, I also
run the piano program at The Sammamish Montessori
School.
My Approach to Music Instruction:
My piano program includes technique, music theory
and appreciation, history, rhythm, fingering,
patterns and scales, as well as ear training,
practice tips and performance recitals. I tailor
lessons to individual students, building customized
lesson plans to accommodate student interests and
abilities. I focus on traditional technique while
providing my students with a rich musical
experience. My objective is to engender my students
with the love of music that has shaped my life.
Rate Structure:
Private rates are $23 per 30 minute session, $34
per 45 minute session, $45 per 60 minute session. I
am currently accepting new piano students of all
ages and levels. Referrals available upon request.
