Petrova Jones is the President of
Petrova Jones Music Inc. in Port Saint
Lucie. She holds both a Bachelors of Music
in Piano Performance and Vocal Performance
and a Masters Degree in Education from
Michigan State. Petrova is a licensed music
educator and elementary educator by the stat
of Florida. Petrova has perfect pitch, and
began studying piano at four, playing with
the BBC Orchestra at age 8. She grew up in a
very musical family. Her mother was a
concert pianist, and her step father, Grover
Mitchell, led the Count Basie Orchestra to
many Grammy Awards. Born in London, England,
Petrova received much of her training in
Europe and later on Palm Beach Island. She
was classically trained as a child, but also
has a great deal of jazz and blues training
and experience.
She has taught music for
over 16 years both privately and in schools.
She is used to working with students of all
levels, starting as young as three in
beginners. She works exceptionally well with
students with disabilities such as Autism,
Down's Syndrome, and developmental delays.
Her lessons are tailored to the individual.
Petrova provides lessons in piano, voice,
guitar, drums and violin to students of all
ages and experience levels. Her expertise is
the piano and voice. She also provides
lessons in brass and woodwinds instruments.
Students enrolled in lessons also
participate in two annual recitals!
