About Me

Playing the piano has been a lifelong passion of mine. I constantly learn new repertoire and review old repertoire so that I can maintain a high skill level. This leads me to being a more competent and enthusiastic teacher. After more than 25 years of teaching I still have periodic lessons with a concert pianist (Walter Hautzig in New York City) and I belong to a monthly teachers’ performance group. I also perform in master classes and play in chamber ensembles with my daughter, a violinist, and my son-in-law, a cellist.

Teaching piano is another lifelong passion. I love watching students develop over the years into fine musicians. I am always seeking out repertoire that will deepen their interest and motivate them to keep going until they graduate from high school. Many of them give senior recitals and some continue piano studies in college. Many have won awards in competitions.

I teach in a beautiful studio that has two well-kept grand pianos (Steinway B’s). The studio is large enough to hold small recitals.
