Olga Corcoran received her Master’s Degree in Music
from Moscow State Institute of Music & Education,
one of the best music schools in world. She
currently continues her studies in Piano Pedagogy at
Holy Names University in Oakland, CA.

Olga firmly believes that everyone not only could,
but actually should learn to play piano or any
musical instrument. Studies after studies show the
benefits of music education for students’ brain
development, concentration skills and creativity,
yet still there is a notion in society that music
lessons are only for a selected few. Contrary to
this popular believe, Olga insists that learning
piano is very beneficial for everybody; it does not
have to hurt; does not require excessive hours of
practice or any special gifts, even on early
advanced repertoire. Since moving to the USA in
1995, Olga has taught numerous piano students, many
of whom have participated and won Solano County
Young Pianists Competition, Northern California
Piano Competitions, San Francisco Chopin Council
Young Pianist Competition and United States Open
Music Competition; some of her current students are
chosen to perform at the Music Teachers’ Association
of California Annual Conventions in Oakland and San
Diego. Three of her students have been accepted to
different public and private universities with full
scholarships. Olga encourages her students to take
MTAC Certificate of Merit exams, Royal Conservatory
Carnegie Hall Achievement Program exams and to
participate in local recitals and community events.
Olga received Solano ARTY’s Best Music Director
Award 2011 for her work as a Music Director with
Solano Youth Theater. Olga also performs in solo
recitals and as an accompanist for various choirs,
violinists and vocalists.
