About the Teacher

Management: 18 years experience in owning and managing Music Expressions-private business of piano and theory students.

Teaching: Seventeen years experience in teaching private piano and music theory lessons, ranging from ages four through adult. These students range from beginner through college level. The studio also includes homeschooled children and senior citizens with and without disabilities in retirement home settings.
Serve as a judge for local and national music competitions and festivals such as the Springfield Music Festival, which is sponsored by the Music Teachers National Association.

Performance:

  • Four years as piano accompanist for High School choir, chorus and orchestra.
  • Four years as voice member of chorus and choir
  • Member of "Singers West" a twelve member elite madrigal singing group.
  • Extensive performance experiences at local, state and national levels in various settings.
  • Member- select Women's ensemble (9 member extra curricular group)
  • Voluntary and paid performances at a variety of civic, church and other social functions.

Conducting: Arrange, manage and conduct annual concerto produced by Music Expressions. Includes performances by students, sometimes by 15-20 member chamber orchestra.

College: Two years music major studies at George Mason University and one year at Northern Virginia Community College

Piano: Three years private piano teaching apprenticeship under Shiela Epstein, Music Teachers National Association.

Kindermusik: Licensed instructor
