The Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins with One Step.

Mary Lou Iverson is a highly regarded pianist and piano pedagogue in Apple Valley, Minnesota. She is a frequent performer both locally and in Mexico at the Theatro de la Paz and Casa de la Cultura in San Luis Potosi. As piano teacher she consistently has students who are state piano competition winners and has had a nationally recognized student composition winner. Frequently, she is called upon to adjudicate piano events such as state competition, ensemble festival, and National Federation Festival. She lectures frequently about Studio Management, Music Theory, Technology and the Music Studio, and Students with Disabilities. As writer for Keyboard Companion, she described the process of website development for an independent music studio; it was published in Spring 1998.

She has published "Music History in the Making," a student organizer that provides goal setting and positive reinforcement. She is one of three developers of "Time Signature", Studio Management Software.

She is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music and is a charter member and president of South Suburban Music Teachers Association, Minnesota Music Teachers Association affiliated with Music Teachers National Association, and also American Federation of Music Teachers. Carmel, Illinois, was certified as a coronary care nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa and was Head Nurse of CCU in Muscatine, Iowa.
