Fun, creative lessons! You
learn the basics of note reading, playing
chords, improvising, playing by ear, and
finger technique. I use many unique learning
tools to teach students the foundational
elements of music.

Lori Alcott began studying the
piano at the age of 7. She studied piano with
several noted instructors including Phyllis Parmelee,
Theory and Jazz with Edwin Maclean (now of FJH
Publishing), Paul Parmelee (University of Colorado
at Boulder). Robert Spillman (Eastman School of
Music), David Burge (Eastman School of Music),
Denver jazz pianist Ted Alexander, and long-time
studio pianist Howard Pancoast.
She studied flute with other known performers,
including Susanella Noble-Wolzien, and Sylvia
Greenfield (faculty member of CSU and UNC). She has
participated in several masterclasses and workshops.
Lori became a Kindermusik Instructor in 2002. She
has taught all Kindermusik curricula and has worked
with hundreds of students. Out of over 5,000
instructors, she received recognition from
Kindermusik International in 2006 for her Family
Time program.
Lori has worked in the music field for several
years. She has been a member of
rock/pop/contemporary groups and plays in every
style. She plays professionally and regularly
performs in local area recitals. Ms. Alcott
conducted and presented a performance by a Summer
Middle School Jazz ensemble during 2010. She has
conducted an elementary homeschool choir. While
working at the Arvada Center, she taught the music
portion of Art Start, Art Sampler, Toddler Tunes,
and the Creative Playgroup. Lori has presented music
programs at the Children's Museum of Denver, the
Westminster Faire, Colorado Mills Mall, Broomfield
Library, and Flatirons Mall.
