I
was born in Romania. At the age of six, I began my
studies of classical piano at The School of Music in
my hometown. I continued on and graduated from The
High School of Performing Arts, where I studied the
theory of music, history of music, theory of
harmony, and chamber music. After graduation I went
to Bucharest where I was admitted to the Ciprian
Porumbescu Conservatory of Music. Four years later I
graduated with a Bachelors degree in Piano Pedagogy
and Music Education. I went back to my hometown and
began my career as a teacher for classical piano at
The High School Of Performing Arts, where I attended
high school. I worked diligently with the students
that were preparing their piano repertoire for the
admission exam given at The Conservatory of Music in
Bucharest, Iasi and Cluj. In December of 1984 my
family and I immigrated to the United States of
America. In 1986, I took my exams to teach in the
public school district and after passing, I began
teaching Music at a public school. I went back to
school to study Jazz and Improvisation and in 1987,
I graduated with my Masters Degree in Piano
Performance.

My Philosophy:
Since life changes constantly, we must adapt to
these changes and learn to adapt that philosophy of
piano teaching. When I teach, I encourage all my
students to experiment and play every kind of music
and to decide later on in life what style of music
they prefer. Because of this, my students learn an
important tool, improvisation. Not only does this
tool enhance their creativity, but also completes
their general music education. I encourage them to
continue reading music and practice at home so they
can continue the learning process. Today's
statistics say that playing an instrument helps a
persons spiritual and intellectual growth. It guides
them toward a more disciplined lifestyle, and aids
in the persons quest for success in life. I
completely agree with this statement and am making
it my priority to help anyone willing to embark on
this journey.
