Known just as "Gordy" to most in
east central Illinois, Gordon Wilson has been a long
time member of the neighboring musical community
providing instruction and services for
keyboards...both musical and computer!
Gordy is
eager for new pursuits and challenges after stepping
down from his staff position at Grace United
Methodist Church.
He has recently accepted a position as interim
director of the Perceptions Contemporary Worship
Service at First United Methodist in Champaign, the
same church where Connie directs the Child Care
Center.
Degrees earned are: Bachelor of Music in applied
piano, Miami University of Ohio, 1961; Master of
Music in Theory and Composition, University of
Illinois, 1963.
He is married to Connie, director of the First United
Methodist Child Care Center in Champaign, Illinois. Connie
and Gordy have two sons, Ryan and Cory.
Gordy has taught, coached privately and entertained publicly
in Champaign-Urbana since 1961 performing as a soloist at
piano bars, clubs, wedding receptions, private parties and
civic organizations. His appearances on radio and TV
commercials, recordings and as a member of many Top 40 bands
and variety groups have created countless loyal fans.
Gordy continues to work as a freelance musician. Recently
The Gordy Wilson Trio, booked by 1st Choice Music Services
has been growing in popularity.
Studio Location
Lessons are given either at Grace United Methodist
Church, 2004 South Philo Road, Urbana, Illinois, or
at a location chosen by the student for an extra
charge.
