With over 20 years of experience, Kathryn Brickell
can accommodate any student. One of her greatest
strengths is in developing a friendly yet productive
student-teacher relationship. Her breadth of
experience is all encompassing and includes
experience and success in teaching ages four thru
adult.
Kathryn prides herself in her ability to develop
individual programs for each and every student.
Method books are not necessarily used unless they
are deemed appropriate. More often than not,
note-reading is taught through exercises written in
the student's notebook so that each exercise
perfectly fits the student's needs.
Programs of study include technique, sight-reading,
and both classical and/or familiar music. Music is
adapted to the exact level of the student.
Kathryn is very aware of the psychology behind
teaching and utilizes her knowledge in that area to
achieve high results. It is her belief that lessons
should be enjoyable!
Kathryn is a graduate of SUNY Old Westbury and SUNY
Stony Brook with a major in music. She studied the
following subjects in depth: piano, classical
guitar, music theory, history, and composition.
Lessons are available in the student's home in all
of Nassau County and Eastern Queens.
