Offering Lessons in Piano, Theory, and
Composition
Lessons are traditional one-on-one lessons and
include standard classical repertoire as well as
20th and 21st century classical styles. Theory and
musicianship includes: sight-reading,
sight-singing/ear-training, common practice harmony,
contemporary styles, and improvisation. Students at
a certain level of advancement may opt to focus on
composition lessons or theory tutorials
independently of traditional piano lessons. Students
may begin lessons as early as five. Beginners at any
age are welcome. Lessons may either be a half-hour,
forty-five minutes, or one hour depending on the age
of the student and their level of advancement.
The creativity of each student is welcomed in
an atmosphere of self-paced activity rather than a
competitive one. Performing is encouraged as a
connection with others and as the sharing of our art
with the community around us.
