Both piano and voice lessons are available along
with vocal coaching. Two recitals a year are
presented, awards given at the spring recital.
Progress reports are administered every three

the National Piano Guild Auditions, OMTA Festival,
OMEA Contests, and National Federation of Music Club

and approval.

I enjoy working with all ages and levels. Children
are very dear to me. We have seven children and have
fostered over twenty. I also have a passion for
adults. It's never too late!
Style and Methods...
I use the traditional classical approach,
supplemented with students' individual preferences
(sacred, jazz, pops, ect.) Various methods are
selected and used dependent on the student's
particular learning style and needs.
Education/Honors...
Pre-college: I studied
piano with Juanita R. Gray (Julliard graduate and
concert artist) in Garrett, Indiana. She was a
marvelous teacher, worth traveling from Ohio to
Indiana every-other week to study under her.
Qualified, inspiring teachers are imperative for a
good musical foundation. I received the Sherwood
Music School Diploma and the National Piano Guild
High School Diploma along with presenting two
recitals. My vocal studies were with Iona De Voe in
Lima, Ohio, participating in many performances and
competitions.
College: I received a
full scholarship in piano/voice from Bowling Green
State University where I received a Bachelor of
Music Education Degree, Summa Cum Laude. I studied
piano with Artist in Residence Jerome Rose and voice
with Virginia Starr. I studied piano pedagogy
extensively under Kaye Moore.
Graduate School: I
received a Master of Education Degree, Magna Cum
Laude, from Kent State University and continued my
piano studies with Kaye Moore (BGSU faculty member).
Continued
Education/Performance: I'm challenged by
regularly attending workshops, seminars, and college
camps. I am a church and wedding ceremony musician
along with participation with my students.
Work Experience...
I taught private and class piano in the BGSU
Preparatory Department. I taught music for Bowling
Green City Schools, Cuyahoga Falls City Schools, and
Nordonia Schools. (All in Ohio) I also taught music
appreciation/history and choir at Cuyahoga Community
College. 32 years of piano and voice instruction out
of my home studio has been a delight!
