Graduate of Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, PA
Bachelor of Arts in Music
Magna cum laude
I
started my private piano studio in my home in
Pennsylvania in1989. My private studio in Apopka,
Florida, has been in operation since 2001.
My students range from beginners up to beginning
advanced, ages three to 70. Emphasis on music
repertoire is on the classics, although beginners
start with standard songs. I use the Bastien and
Faber & Faber method books. I conduct piano
instructions on a Steinway grand; however, I also
introduce my students to the mechanics of modern
technology by demonstrating the logic of popular
chord progression on a Kawaii CP155 digital piano. I
require the study of music theory and the use of a
metronome. I prepare my beginners and young adult
students to play for a piano recital once a year,
participate in the Music Festival with the
Federation of Music Clubs in Orlando, and the State
Federation in Jacksonville and other local music
festivals sponsored by the National Federation of
Music Clubs (NFMC) and/or Music Teachers National
Association (MTNA).
From 2001 to 2004, side by side with my private
studio, I also taught private and adult group piano
classes, at Seminole Community College, Community
Music Program in Sanford, Florida.
I have danced ballet for ten plus years, and in
1988, I enjoyed the opportunity to play the piano
for ballet classes at the Northwest Ballet Academy
in Schaumburg, Illinois.
I am a member of the chamber choir (alto section) of
the Church of the Annunciation in Altamonte Springs,
Florida.
I am a member of both clubs mentioned above (NFMC &
MTNA).
