A native of San Francisco, Jennifer has
taught piano in the Bay Area at Music City
Academy, Joyful Melodies Music School, and
Cazadero Performing Arts Camp. She has
taught all levels ranging from ages 4 to 64,
and is committed to tailoring to each
student's individual needs and having each
of their music learning experience unique,
supportive, and enjoyable. Sight reading,
proper technique and posture, music theory,
and producing beautiful musical phrases are
incorporated in her lessons as necessary
training for any pianist.
A collaborative pianist, she is well versed in
chamber music and has attended the Kent/Blossom
Music Festival as a full scholarship pianist,
performing with the Cleveland Orchestra and the
Kent/Blossom Chamber Orchestra at the Blossom Music
Center. She was principal keyboardist of the San
Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra for three
seasons, performing with Maestro Edwin Outwater in
prestigious European venues such as the Musikverein
in Vienna and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
Jennifer is also established as a strong soloist
with a Master of Music of Piano Performance from
Indiana University and a Bachelor of Music in Piano
Performance from Rice University studying with
sought-after pedagogues, Robert Roux and Shigeo
Neriki. She received the coveted Dean's Scholarship
and Artistic Excellence Award from Indiana
University as well as the President's Honor Roll,
Joyce Wylie Award, and Paul E. Craven Award from
Rice University.
A seasoned competitor in addition to her pedagogical
and collaborative activities, Jennifer has garnered
numerous awards, including First Prizes in the CAPMT
Bartok Festival State Finals competition, MTAC Solo
Competition, and Burlingame Music Club Competition,
and Third Prize in the Fremont Symphony Young
Artists Concerto Competition, and Ross McKee Piano
Competition. As a concerto soloist, she performed
the J.S. Bach Piano Concerto in D minor with the
Golden Gate Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, and the
Mozart Concerto K. 488 with the Indiana University
Orchestra. She was invited as a guest artist to
perform a solo program for the Helen von Ammon
Emerging Artist Series at the Noontime Concert
Series in San Francisco.
