Joanna began studying piano at the age of five and won her first piano competition at age 15. Following graduation from ASU, Joanna continued to study privately for many years, pursuing a special interest in the area of piano pedagogy. After many years of teaching in public and private schools, Joanna began teaching private lessons in her north Scottsdale home studio. For over 20 years she has successfully passed on her love for music to adults and children of all ages. Several of her students have been scholarship recipients. Presently Joanna is an occasional accompanist and plays at private Christmas parties.

Joanna has great rapport with all of her students. She applies patience and encouragement to motivate young students, as well as adults, and makes learning the piano an enjoyable and enriching experience. Each student is encouraged to pursue supplemental music of their own selection. Students may be invited to perform in one or more recitals annually.

If you are a beginning adult student with little or no previous piano, Joanna is the teacher to contact. She will have you playing familiar music at your very first lesson. You will progress at a rapid pace and will soon be playing the songs you love!

Studio technology includes: Digital piano with recording, synthesizer, computerized music theory with Midi on multiple computers.
