My goal is to provide your child with a satisfying experience in music education:
  • Learn to like music and develop a positive attitude toward music and musicians.
  • Learn to play to the best of his or her capabilities.
  • Make as much progress as your child comfortably can during these years of study.

Lessons

I prefer that beginning students take one or two half-hour or 45-minute lessons per week. When students are older, they may choose to take an hour weekly lesson instead.

I welcome both children as young as 4 years, through adults. Please feel free to call me to discuss how I may be able to introduce your child to the piano or further his or her musical development.

Parents are welcome to stay while their children are taking their lessons.

Professional Activities

I have worked as a piano accompanist as well as a teacher. During each year, I work in the Plano Music Teachers Association festivals and auditions, plan and arrange piano auditions and student recitals, and attend professional seminars and the Texas Music Teachers Association (TMTA & MTNA) convention.

Auditions, Contests, Recitals

Auditions, contests, festivals and recitals are available for students who wish to participate. My students participate in the PMTA fall festivals, sonata festivals, class and spring recitals, the Dallas Piano Competition, and the Plano Trophy Award Competition.

Participation in these events is optional, and I will never require a student to participate. Some events are more competitive than others. I will always try to direct students toward events that I feel will be a positive experience for them.

Experience

I have taught beginning through advanced piano students in Dallas since 1993. I have been an accompanist for the Brookhaven College dance department and at the Dallas Dance Academy. I have also taught at Trinity Christian School and a Montessori school.

I graduated from the Baku (former USSR) Musical College with Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music, with certification as a Teacher of Children’s Music. I taught piano and music to children in schools and privately, as well as serving as an accompanist with a ballet school, and creating and supervising concerts and programming for television.
