Hang Li is an active piano
performer and teacher in San Francisco Bay
Area. She is currently a piano faculty
member at San Francisco Conservatory of
Music Prep Division.
She premiered Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No.2 with
Shanghai Symphony Orchestra at Shanghai Concert Hall
in 1997. Her Beijing Concert Hall debut, performing
Chinese contemporary piano works, received glowing
notices in 1996. She has made appearance extensively
throughout China, in US and Europe. Before she came
to US, she was the youngest lecturer in China
Central Conservatory of Music and among the judging
committee of Piano Performance Certificate of China
Association of Musician in Beijing.
She earned, all in piano performance, her bachelor's
degree from China Central Conservatory of Music
(中央音乐学院) with honor, a master degree from San
Francisco Conservatory of Music, an artist
certificate from Southern Methodist University, and
an artist diploma from prestigious Accademia
Musicale Chigiana in Siena (Italy).
Her teachers include the eminent pianist Joaquín
Achúcarro, Professor Mack McCray(Chair, Piano
Department of San Francisco Conservatory of Music)
and the most famous piano educators in China, Zhou
Guangren, Li Qifang and Ling Yuan.
She has taught at TOP Pre-College Music School,
Coppell Conservatory, Dallas School of Music and Yew
Chung International School. Her students have
received numerous awards in competitions. Many
students have passed the Advanced Level of
Certificate of Merit from Music Teachers'
Association of California (MTAC). Her capability and
quality teaching are beloved by her students and
their parents. She is member of National Music
Teacher Association, Music Teachers' Association of
California, American College of Musicians.
