Gary Eng is an accomplished young pianist. As winner
of the Canadian Music Competitions, the 4th Canadian Pacific Piano Competition as well as the 21st National
Debut Young Artists Competition, he has performed extensively as a soloist both locally and abroad, and
shares his recorded performances on CBC Radio Two.
As a concert pianist, Mr. Eng's international performances have taken him to Europe including: France, Italy, the Netherlands and Poland. Locally, he has established himself as a respectable young performer among many audiences. His solo concerto debut with the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra in Vancouver's own historic Orpheum Theatre was a great success.
Mr. Eng received his Bachelor of Music from the University of British Columbia under the tutelage of Professor Lee Kum-Sing. He was also a recipient of
the Performer's Certificate from the Vancouver Academy of Music with top honors as well as the Associate Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music of
Toronto with first class distinction.
Mr. Eng maintains a professional private teaching studio in Burnaby. He gives
lessons in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. His students achieve high
honors in the Royal Conservatory of Music examinations and receive awards and scholarships through local festivals and competitions. Annual student recitals
and other performing opportunities take place every year.
As an active musician in the church, he serves in the music ministry as a worship leader, pianist, keyboardist, vocalist, guitarist and trombonist. Aside from classical music, he also shares his musical gifts as a Christian contemporary songwriter. He has a heart to develop and refine the skills of young musicians to equip them well to serve in the church.
