Born and raised in Switzerland, Emmanuel studied classical and jazz piano in Montreux, home of the world famous jazz festival. He is a graduate of the Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, internationally renowned for its Jazz program. Emmanuel also studied orchestration and composition for film at UCLA.

Before making his home in America, Emmanuel enjoyed a position as tenured professor in the Jazz Department of the Montreux Conservatory of Music, where he was also known as a jazz composer and recording - touring artist in Europe.

In his 18 years of experience as an educator Emmanuel has developed a "to the point" teaching method for beginners and advanced students. Whether he teaches well known melodies or jazz improvisation, his approach is fun and well organized. In addition to a traditional jazz curriculum, Emmanuel offers his students the same approach to blues, pop, classical piano and composition.

Since living in Los Angeles, Emmanuel' s musical career has expanded to include composing and conducting for film, TV and video games. His music can be heard on the military courtroom drama series "JAG" on CBS network and has been performed by renowned orchestras as the Ensemble Orchestral de la Riviera, Hollywood Symphony Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
