Teaching Piano/Keyboard, Guitar and Voice
David has been involved in music study
and performance for over 30 years and has
been an instructor for over 20 years.
Piano Studies
Four years of Jazz Piano and Improvisation study
with Professor Bruce Torff of the New England
Conservatory of Music. Included in these studies
were jazz music ensemble classes held at New England
Conservatory with Prof. Michael Taylor.
Voice Studies
Studied Voice Pedagogy with New England
Conservatory graduate/instructor Barbara Morash for
6 years, at Music is Art Agency.
Guitar Studies
Three years of Jazz Guitar study - One year of
Jazz Guitar and guitar theory with Andrew Martin of
Berklee College of Music. Also studied two years of
Jazz Guitar with Don Pendleton of Saugus,
Massachusetts. David is currently enrolled in a
Guitar Program at Berklee College of Music.
In addition, David uses jazz guitarist Jimmy Bruno's
approach for teaching guitar theory and
improvisation.
Experience and History
David has been performing professionally for 27
years. Performing in many groups, including the
Alphonso Thomas Jazz Quintet.
David has been a piano, guitar and voice teacher at
Tewksbury Music Center for numerous years. He has
also worked as an Accompanist/Music Director for the
Lexington, MA School System.
In the year 2000, as an extension of
West Sound
Studio, David and his brother Jim started West
Brothers Music™ in Londonderry, NH... teaching
lessons in piano, guitar, bass, drums and voice.
After getting married to his wonderful wife Rose,
and moving to Nashua, David began to transition to
the Nashua area and eventually opened the Amherst
New Hampshire, West Brothers Music™ location in
2004.
