Confidence, one attitude parents want their children to possess. When a young person can complete a task, finish a project, or reach a goal, a sense of self worth and esteem is raised to new levels. Since 1991 Studio K Music has been providing opportunities for people of all ages to build confidence through the piano. David Kellen has motivated, educated, and a mentored hundreds of people through music. He established Studio K from a handful of students. Today, it is the largest and most successful piano education school in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, with an enrollment of over 200 developing musicians.
The curriculum at Studio K is both diverse and inclusive. Many styles of music are used in educating students; Jazz, Classical, Sacred, Ragtime, Blues, Rock, and Pop, all have equal billing! Mr. Kellen also arranges many songs for piano using a music notation software. This allows students at any level to learn their favorite songs. At Studio K Music we realize that if students are having fun and enjoying the music they play, they will acquire the discipline of practicing without it being a chore!
David Kellen
Since 1985 David Kellen has been inspiring young and young at heart to play the piano. He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1988 with a Bmus. Degree in Organ Performance, minoring in Jazz Piano and Harpsichord. In 1991 he was a national finalist in the Yamaha National Electone Festival in Los Angeles. He has been involved in Jazz and Christian Music throughout the Chicagoland Area since 1986, and in 1997 he released his first solo piano CD, entitled “In Search Of Christmas.” He and his wife Marianne are the parents of Matthew and Jacob.
