Cecilia Shen

Cecilia Shen, studied with Frank Wiens at University of the Pacific, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. She received her Master's degree in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Oregon; and discovered her passion for teaching piano while teaching at both Lane Community College and Albany Conservatory for Music Education as a piano instructor.

Her philosophy in piano teaching is to develop all area of students' musicality. She also believes that each child has great potential for success in playing music when the students, teacher, and parents are all working together.

Cecilia Shen is a member of the Music Teachers National Association and the Music Teachers' Association of California.

Established in 2000, The Music Within has trained hundreds of piano students in the Elk Grove, Greenhaven/Pocket, South Sacramento area. All the instructors in The Music Within are qualified and experienced teachers with special training to encourage students to develop an appreciation for music, learn music reading skills, play music with comfort, expressiveness, and accuracy, and develop total coordination between hands, brain, and body.
