Mrs. Cornelia Petrescu grew up in Bucharest-Romania.
She finished Music High School "Dinu Lipatti" in
Bucharest and earned a Bachelor Degree of Piano and
Music Education at "Ciprian Porumbescu"
Conservatory- Bucharest, studying with famous
Romanian pianists as teachers. At Bayreuth Germany
she had Piano Master classes with W.Kemph, Nadia
Boulanger, Sviatoslav Richter, Aldo Ciccolini, and
Valentin Gheorghiu. She earned a piano teacher
position in Bukarest. After couple of years she
moved with her family (husband, cello player and
son) to Venezuela as a pianist of Maracaibo Symphony
Orchestra and as the Dean of Piano Department of
Conservatory "Jose Luis Paz" Maracaibo-Venezuela.
Mrs. Petrescu managed "Centro Musical Amadeus" with
more then 60 students. Part of them are now piano
teachers and performers at Maracaibo- Caracas,
Valencia, Puerto Ordaz -Venezuela. She moved in USA
as a pianist of the Miami Symphony Orchestra and
joined public schools system as a music teacher.
Mrs. Petrescu teaches piano at "Petresco Music
Conservatory" piano studio. Recently she earned a
Master Degree of Education at AIU University.
PERFORMING EXPERIENCE
Mrs. Cornelia Petrescu traveled allover the world as
a pianist of Maracaibo Symphony. As a pianist of
Miami Symphony she played at Carnegie Hall N.Y.
She belonged to Trio Amadeus making tours at
Caribbean Islands and now she is part of Lippati
Trio. She loves opera this why she played as a piano
coach for Fidelio by Beethoven with Metropolitan
Opera. Mrs. Petrescu played with Jose Carreras and
Placido Domingo, preparing and coaching for North
Miami Symphony Orchestra, Merry Widow by F. Lehar.
As a religious performer she played piano and
prepared choirs for Christmas Cantatas. Mrs.
Petrescu played piano for Elementary Chorus
Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Superintendent's
Honor Festival.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Mrs. Petrescu has an extended experience in teaching
piano with excellent results. She prepared piano
students for Leningrad Conservatory Russia, Piano
Competitions in Romania, Venezuela and USA. She has
three students who chose a piano as a career at
University of Miami. Mrs. Petrescu is very patient
with her students and makes them play very quick.
She understands that music enhances learning,
especially by playing piano. One of the last
theories of teaching is that playing piano a student
improves FCAT results in math reading and writing. "Petresco
Music Conservatory" Inc is a piano studio registered
to Tallahassee Florida, therefore Mrs. Petrescu's
piano students present an evaluation twice per year.
She prepares her students for two annual concerts
and she releases a diploma for the level the student
is on.
