Pianist Cindy Wei-Ying Chen, a
native of Taiwan, holds both Bachelor's and Master's Degree
of Music from Juilliard School where she studied under
tutelage of Gyorgy Sandor. She also received a Master of Art
in Music Education from Teacher's College, Columbia
University.
In addition to her teaching and performing career, Ms. Chen
has been deeply involved in early childhood music education
and was certified as Kindermusik teacher in 2006. Ms. Chen
now serves as Music Director for "Little Mozart Music
Program" at KonWah Day School in Flushing, NY, and is also
on Piano Faculty at Amadeus Music School and maintains a
private studio for the past 10 years in New York
metropolitan area.
Ms. Chen has received numerous high honors and music awards,
which includes Harvard Musical Association Achievement
Award, New England Piano Teachers' Association Scholarship
Competition, Sarasota Chamber Music Festival Award, Taichung
Piano Competition, and Taiwan National Piano Competition.
Ms. Chen has performed extensively both as soloist and
chamber musician in major concert halls in the United States
and abroad, such as: Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall,
Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Juilliard Theater,
Jordon Hall, Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, Sarasota
Chamber Music Festival, Bowdoin Summer Music Festival,
Walnut Hill School Theater, Taiwan Center, Bryant Library,
Flushing Library, Taipei Economic Cultural Office in New
York, Messiah Lutheran Church, Taiwan Christian Church of
Binghamton, National Cheng-Kong University, National Taiwan
University Hospital, and Chung-Hsing Hall in Taiwan.
Ms. Chen also offer to prepare her students the opportunity
to take the NYSSMA and ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal
School of Music) Piano Exams.
