All Classes at Novapiano are taught by Chris Almond, a
member of MTNA and NVMTA
In addition to studying piano with
Carolyn Hickson at the University of Arkansas,
Chris also performed on Oboe and English Horn with the North
Arkansas and Fort Smith Symphony Orchestras and the "Ozarks
Woodwind Quintet." Chris has also performed as a Jazz
Saxophonist with the University of Arkansas Jazz Band and on
a variety of Medieval and Baroque period instruments in
Collegium Musicum. Chris completed his B.M. in Music Theory
in 1998 under
Dr. Robert Mueller. In addition to leading
Novapiano, he is also the Director of Education for
Piano Place,
one of the nation's largest piano dealers.
Chris' instruction combines traditional elements, some
Suzuki Method influences, along with the educational
benefits of modern electronic technology to create a
dynamic, flexible, and fun experience for the student,
parent, and teacher.
Chris is also active as a studio accompanist.
