I have a master's degree in piano performing and pedagogy from
the college
of music, Bucharest, Romania.
My piano teachers were Florica Musicescu's pupils, the teacher
of legendary
pianist Dinu Lipatti.
I taught piano at the school of music is Bucharest for 11 years.
In parallel I played piano in many recitals both solo and in
duos and, in addition, I made recordings for Romanian radio and
TV stations.
The next 11 years I taught piano at the conservatory Kfar Saba,
Israel.
At that time I also worked as an accompanist to other performers
(violin,
clarinet, canto).
In Austin I taught piano at International School of Austin and
Oakmont
School for six years.
In addition, recently I have worked with students to understand
concepts
connecting music and wider topics such as, "Classical music and
national
flavor music in American and Foreign films", "Opera music from
famous films"
, and "Parallels between Mozart and Chopin".
During these years, I continued my professional development,
participating
in master classes and teacher's programs such as the TCU/Van
Cliburn
Institute in Ft. Worth.
I teach at my home or at the student's home, preferably central
or south-west Austin.
My method is the traditional one taught in New York, Paris and
Tel Aviv.
I teach piano together with basics of theory, harmony, and
history of music.
My goal is to make the student understand and love the music
language, to
develop good mechanical skills, concentration, imagination and
personality.
I teach students starting at age six to adults.
I recommend 30 minutes twice a week for beginners, one hour for
intermediate and two hours for advanced students.
